Mr Assis Axle

The axle is the heart of the engineering of a cart. It has to be skillfully built to support at least 500 pounds in the daily adventure of the waste collectors through the city. Mr Assis, who works with the waste cycle in Curitiba, presented a personal solution in the 20 carts of his deposit. His artifact has being copied by many artisans of the city.

The Assis Axle is made out of two motorcycle wheels. The original spokes are replaced by hammered metal pipes soldered to the hub, to support more weight. The nucleous of the axle is taken out from the engine of a washing machine soldered to a metal pipe that runs through the width of the wagon. The pedal cubes of two bicycle frames are required to feature this axle

Mr Assis builds his wagons out of found metal. He uses metal frames of windows and doors soldered to metal pipes.The bottom of the wagon is furnished with roof metal sheets
